COS Machine Shop Professional

Job Description
This position is responsible for machining, brazing, soldering, and hand fitting elaborate one-of-a-kind apparatuses in the Engineering Machine Shop and in the College of Sciences Faculty/Student Instrumentation Shop. This includes the use of all the machines commonly encountered in a machine shop as well as a wide range of materials including: metals, ceramics and plastics. Responsible for assisting in the development of conceptual designs and for fabricating equipment and components on a variety of research and design projects, to meet the needs of students, staff, faculty and researchers. Makes detailed suggestions in the design, construction and/or modification of these apparatuses. Manages the operations of the the College of Sciences Faculty/Student Instrumentation Shop.
