CAD Technician

Location: Leamington Spa/ Warwick
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: 28000 - 32000 based on experience

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to provide engineering support within our engineering department, from initial concept to manufacture, and from assembly to installation. The successful candidate will produce original electromechanical designs and engineering drawings for our products, utilising 3D design software such as SolidWorks.

Day to Day of the role:

Model components and assemblies in SolidWorks, carrying out basic design studies and calculations.
Create detailed engineering drawings with dimensions and tolerances, and communicate design details with the sales team and customers.
Provide engineering design support within the engineering department to assist production, sales, and management teams.
Support the sales team by producing engineering solutions and deliver training sessions to customers.
Conduct fault finding, site surveys, and provide comprehensive customer support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Experience with PDM systems for managing design data.
Strong background in Mechanical Engineering and Design for Manufacture.
Competency in IT, problem-solving, project control, planning, and scheduling.
Excellent communication skills and commercial judgement.
Proven experience in CAD, producing 3D models and engineering drawings for manufacture.

Experience with the design of extrusion, fabricated, and injection moulded parts.
Hands-on engineering, manufacture, and test experience.
HNC/Degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
Valid Driving Licence.
