Job Purpose


A leading company in the aviation industry is looking for a "Category Lead – Payment Gateways Specialist" to be based in London, Madrid or Barcelona.


The role is responsible for leading and managing procurement activities related to payment gateways, payment processors and payment service providers by developing category procurement strategies, driving cost savings, and ensuring supplier performance.


Main Responsibilities


  • Define and develop the category strategy. Develop and implement a comprehensive category procurement strategy for payment gateways, payment processors and payment service providers, aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors within the designated categories, ensuring effective supplier performance and continuous improvement.
  • Define the strategy for the optimization of the procurement process. Streamline and enhance the procurement process, including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and supplier evaluation, to maximize efficiency. This includes covering all commercial, business, and legal project risks in contracts to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.
  • Managing all pre and post contract commercial matters including preparation of cost estimates, value engineering, negotiating/agreeing contract change and ensuring that the core principles of Commercial Management are being implemented. Whilst fully understanding the commercial impact of all decisions and delivery projects within approved budget authorizations.
  • Working with stakeholders (inside and outside of the company) to standardise/simplify specifications, define sourcing strategy, analyse RFP output, negotiate commercial terms and contract agreement drafting.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality and service levels.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as IT departments, Ecommerce Departments, Commercial departments to understand their requirements, provide procurement support, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis of the industry trends, market conditions, emerging technologies, and best practices within ecommerce and payment gateways industry.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supplier dependencies, price volatility, quality issues, and contractual obligations.
  • Work with suppliers to grow and develop supplier markets.


Job requisites


  • Engineering Degree or university degree in Ecommerce, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or related.
  • 5/15 years of experience
  • Fluency in English
