Full Job Description

We are managing the search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf a Private Equity firm, to be positioned within the latest addition to their portfolio, a market leader in the Asset & Equipment Rental Space.


The successful individual will have worked within a PE business, and is either currently CFO or an experienced Finance Director looking for that next step into the CFO seat. We are looking to appoint an experienced leader that gets the balance of understanding the importance of ensuring the operational side of the role sees the Finance function at the core of the business, that it has the right systems, processes and reporting in place, and will take the necessary measures to optimise these. The other element is leading on the strategic side of the role, providing financial insights, supporting and advising on M&A activity and playing a lead role in supporting the business in executing their expansion strategy.


The CFO will be part of the Senior Executive Team and present at Board meetings.


Key Experience:


  • Risk management (with an emphasis on strategic management of debt, working capital, capex – as well as operational management of internal controls and compliance).
  • Financial reporting to include high standards of corporate governance, financial and board reporting) and a relatively complex balance sheet.
  • M&A (due diligence, integration, process, structuring)
  • Significant experience in asset rental, or other asset-heavy / fleet-management industries is desirable.
  • Managing debt facilities including ABL, ID and a cash flow loan.
  • Exposure to Private Equity transactions or experience working within finance teams in Private Equity businesses is essential.

  • Qualified accountant
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Experience in dealing with investors and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • Highly effective leadership with a proven record of building and managing a finance team as well as driving change and transformation
  • Previous experience implementing systems and processes in growing businesses with £20M+ revenue. and growth targets of £50M within the next 5 years
  • Influential with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
