Security is now integral to the responsible and safe deployment of Large Language Models  (LLM) and predictive AI (Artificial Intelligence) models, ensuring they function as intended and uphold the privacy and trust of the individuals and organisations that rely on them. AI and LLMs are also increasingly playing a pivotal role in IT security with vendors releasing AI security workbenches combining LLM and threat intelligence tools.

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the newly formed Cloud Security business unit will be a strategic leader in our professional services organisation, focusing on enhancing our customers' security posture where they are leveraging the Google Cloud Data and AI technology ecosystem in addition to delivering wider cybersecurity and cyber risk requirements . This leadership role involves building and overseeing a team of security professionals and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust security postures within our client's cloud environments end-to- end as well as that of Datatonic.The role will work closely with some of the brightest minds in ML and AI in a culture of constant innovation.

The CISO will be a cybersecurity evangelist and go-to individual externally on data security, the role will also involve  working very closely with the top security specialists in Google Cloud and will create an opportunity to work on joint R&D initiatives.

The role :

  • A strong Cloud Cybersecurity leader that will bring high-energy to oversee and grow a portfolio of client’s projects that range from hybrid cloud security to cybersecurity strategy and risk management
  • Lead operations which includes delivery of billable projects and supporting business development activities of the Cloud Cybersecurity practice area, consult and advise executives, help drive new sales, coach and develop junior to mid-level staff, and drive initiatives to improve our client's enterprise security posture
  • Supervise, Design and maintain secure cloud network architectures, policies and principles, including the integration of AI, LLM and Machine Learning services
  • Consult as a Senior Cloud Cybersecurity consultant and collaborate with clients to tailor security solutions that leverage Google Cloud's AI and data technologies.
  • Champion organisational understanding of cloud security importance and practices.
  • Drive data modernisation initiatives to organise and protect enterprise data effectively 
  • Stay abreast of the latest cloud security trends and technologies to provide thought leadership and strategic direction 
  • Establish a team of Security Professionals and latterly a SOC team
  • Will have established Cybersecurity customer relationships, be known among Industry partners, have outstanding business acumen  and outstanding personnel management and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in Hybrid Cloud Security and cloud security principles. 
  • Ideally the successful candidate has experience with Google Cloud, however experience with Azure and/or AWS is also sufficient.
  • Proven expertise in data platform security posture/governance and cyber risk management
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing security teams.
  • Excellent communication and consulting abilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of security trends in relation to hybrid cloud platform security, Data Security and Cyber Risk

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Professional Cloud Security Engineer Certification, CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent.
  • A security professional with a  minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud security, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
