Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children with learning disabilities in a residential setting. You will work closely with a team of professionals to create a nurturing environment where each child's individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to children from traumatic backgrounds including assistance with daily living activities, gaining indepedance, and emotional support.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for children, promoting independence and encouraging participation in activities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, their families, and other members of the care team.
- Assist in the implementation of individual care plans, ensuring that each child's specific needs and preferences are met.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in providing care for children from trauma informed backgrounds
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and any significant developments or incidents.
Working a mixed Shift pattern of earlies, lates and long days with minimum of 1 sleep in per week.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a challenging behaviour setting is required
- A compassionate and caring nature, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently when required.
- Willingness to work a mixture of early and late shifts, including one sleep-in shift per week.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field would be advantageous.
