Civil Enforcement Officer - Parking

Location: SM4 5DX
Start date: ASAP
Contract duration: 4+ months
Working hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00 - 17:00, 35 hours p/w
Pay rate: 18.04 p/h PAYE

We have an opportunity available for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join a Local Authority based in Morden. You will be responsible for enforcing permitted parking places and waiting and loading restrictions throughout the Borough both on and off-street. Your duties will include:

• To issue Penalty Charge Notices as appropriate for contravention of parking, loading and waiting regulations using handheld computer terminals or hand written tickets as required. To ensure computer equipment and printers are correctly used.
• To issue leaflets or warning notices to parked vehicles as required.
• To maintain accurate records of enforcement action taken.
• To ensure markings and signs of restrictions are of adequate standard to ensure effective enforcement, recording and reporting defects as appropriate.

Skills and experience:

• Previous Civil Enforcement experience - enforcement of permitted parking places.
• Knowledge of current Road Traffic Legislation in respect of parking.
• The ability to remain polite with members of the public whilst firmly enforcing waiting and loading regulations
