Role Summary

We are hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer; this candidate will utilise and participate in improving tools, process, and automation to eliminate manual operations and craft repeatable processes. This will help maintain a highly available server infrastructure for deploying instances, applying system updates, managing configuration changes, and system tuning. This candidate will have experience with both application and infrastructure, with experience maintaining a hybrid on-prem and cloud infrastructure. The candidate will participate in assessing existing platforms and assist in designing and building future state for both applications and infrastructure in a highly resilient environment.


Role and Responsibilities
  • Build, design, deploy, maintain the implementation of Cloud solutions across public cloud (AWS).
  • Build, design, deploy, maintain the implementation of "on-prem" solutions.
  • Participate in technology evaluation and reengineering teams to support strategy-definition and continuous process improvement activities.
  • Help implement the technology direction, vision, and strategy to enable Cloud technology adoption.
  • Enhance automation of cloud enablement tools and participate in their design and evolution.
  • Recognise and resolve all business issues and impacts.
  • Assess urgency of issues and facilitate follow-up and resolution accordingly including service quality initiatives to support a "five nines" product availability environment.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and management of workload automation initiatives.
  • Adhere to Change Management, Problem Management policies and familiarity with ITIL or other formalised IT operations foundations.

Essential Skills
  • Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of individuals.
  • Eligible for SC Clearance.

Essential Technical Skills
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • 3+ years working with cloud platforms, AWS/Azure.
  • 5+ years of experience as a systems administrator in a client or server environment, including deployment automation tools, such as Ansible.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux based systems including Hardware, software, networking, and storage.
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for small, medium scale and enterprise level applications.
  • Specific experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including VPC, EC2 (including Spot Instances and Autoscaling), Network, E/ALB, EBS, RDS, and IAM. EKS would be a bonus.
  • Broad experience with cloud adoption, including WAR and FTR, prototyping of new environments, server builds, data migration, performance tuning of cloud environments.
  • Technical knowledge of infrastructure components such as Network, Storage, Linux/Windows, Application knowledge of Java, Node, and IT security.
  • Experience with configuring software defined networking and security configurations, including security groups and ACLs.
  • Experience with DevOps procedures and processes and with working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting complex distributed environments.
