Full Job Description

Grade UE03: £21,978 to £22,681 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £22,214 to £24,248 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)

CAHSS / College Office

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed-term contract: from 3rd June 2024  for 12 weeks

Employ.ed on Campus internships are ONLY open to 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. 

We are looking for a College Festival Projects Intern.

The Opportunity:

This internship is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the College on its interactions with Edinburgh’s summer festivals. The College supports a number of high-profile events at the festivals, as well as partnering in community engagement and creative industries projects. You will provide strategic support to University staff involved in a variety of projects and activities in the lead up to and during festival time. 

Work will focus on collaborations with the Edinburgh International Festival and high-profile author events at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. It will include supporting our festival communications, particularly around how we are involved in other summer festivals, including the Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. You will gain excellent transferable experience of creative and cultural events, learn about branding guidelines and their application, and about many of the professional services roles in the University and in Edinburgh’s Festivals.   

Programme Information:  Employ.ed on Campus  is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University departments and Schools.  It offers exclusive summer internships at the University. As well as great work experience, the Careers Service provides supporting resources, this is combined with a framework to support the development of participants’ employability and self-reflection with an Edinburgh Award  as part of the internship. Employ.ed on Campus internships are ONLY open to 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before. 

This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and will be based largely in the Edinburgh Futures Institute at 1 Lauriston Place. Some hybrid working will be possible during the internship.

  • Proactive when dealing with complexity and problems that arise with events.
