Job title: Commercial Contract Director- Citizen Services &
Transport & Community Services
Location: Hook, London Solihull or
Home Based with a requirement for travel within the United Kingdom.

This is a key leadership role which will
provide strategic commercial contracts leadership to two business
units ad help enable successful commercial outcomes, sustainable
growth, enhanced profitability with an effectively managed commercial
and contractual risk profile. You will report directly into the UK&E
Head of Commercial Contracts and will sit as a key member of the
senior leadership teams for each of the Business Units, supporting the
Managing Directors. You will also build and maintain close
relationships with senior colleagues in the wider Legal function and
in the Business Units.
This role will involve you being the ‘go to’ person for commercial contracts advice, guidance and identify and implement solutions which bring a commercial benefit or competitive advance. You’ll be involved in contract reviews and risk assessments, preparations of bid responses relating to the contract terms, negotiation and dialogue with customers on Ts and Cs matters and contractual aspects of transition and bid to contract handover. In this role you will manage a team of Commercial Contracts Managers and Analysts supporting the Business Units and will be responsible to lead, build and develop that team to meet the emerging needs of those Business Units.
What you’ll need to do the role
• Relevant professional qualification with significant
experience in a senior commercial contract’s role preferably within an
outsourced services environment
• Demonstrable experience of
balancing commercial, technical and legal requirements to achieve
successful outcomes with acceptable risk profiles
•
Demonstrable commercial acumen and business-oriented approach
•
Ability to think strategically and balance strategic and short-term
priorities and objectives
• Strong negotiation skills and
ability to adopt robust commercial positions whilst maintaining
trusted, respected and effective relationships
