Full Job Description

This is a terrific opportunity for a highly motivated, well-organised individual to join UnHerd’s strong team of editors. As commissioning editor they will play a key part in commissioning, editing and presenting UnHerd’s daily articles.

Responsibilities:

• Content Commissioning: Identify and commission articles, essays, and blogs that align with UnHerd's mission and resonate with our audience.
• Editing Excellence: Showcase your exceptional editing skills by refining and enhancing the quality of content, ensuring it meets UnHerd's high editorial standards.
• Talent Scouting: Cultivate an adept eye for discovering and nurturing new writers and contributors who can provide fresh perspectives.
• Ideation and Innovation: Bring ambitious and original ideas to the table, contributing to the ongoing growth and evolution of UnHerd's content.
• News Savvy: Exhibit a strong news sense, enabling you to identify timely and relevant topics for commissioning.

SALARY DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

• Editorial Experience: Prior experience in writing and/or editing for digital or print publications will be a significant advantage, demonstrating your familiarity with the editorial landscape.
• Ghostwriting Flair: If you possess the flair for ghostwriting, so much the better!
