The role

This role calls for an adept Community Engagement Officer who will manage and execute the stakeholder engagement process from the groundwork stages through to the completion of our public realm projects. You will be the driving force in fostering connections and facilitating communication lines with a diverse cross-section of stakeholders.



The ideal candidate will demonstrate



  • Design and implement a robust communications strategy tailored to the unique demands of our public realm projects.
  • Oversee the development and progression of a comprehensive Stakeholder Management Plan.
  • Hold weekly coordination meetings with the Borough Communications team to maintain alignment and momentum.
  • Engage with stakeholders using a variety of channels, assuring clarity and consistency of messaging.
  • On-site presence will be integral once projects are operational, bridging direct stakeholder interaction with strategic oversight.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, inclusive of some weekends, to meet the project's timeline and objectives.


About you

The successful Community Engagement Officer will prioritise communication and foster relationships throughout the project lifecycle.


You will be able to


  • Demonstrable experience in communications within a similar role, particularly with public realm or community-focused projects.
  • An outgoing personality with the ability to engage confidently and effectively with a vast spectrum of individuals and interest groups.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication prowess.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multifaceted stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in project management within the public realm or construction sectors.
  • Commitment to be site-based and adapt to the evolving needs of an active project environment.


Paying up to £250.00 a day
