Location: South Coast & London

Hybrid working - 8 days per month in the office onsite

Description

The Compensation and Rewards Specialist plays a crucial role in leading the global People function through a huge transformation of their compensation and rewards frameworks, policies and procedures.

This role requires a subject matter expert within reward and compensation and this a very high-profile critical role partnering with the Chief Executive and People Senior Leadership team to deliver a new reward strategy within the organisation.

About the role

  • Completely rework and review the current Pay, reward and recognition strategy.
  • Own the job evaluation system and conduct job evaluations (HAY methodology), and ensure new job evaluation tech system being introduced working effectively.
  • Overhaul and analysis of current reward strategy, working alongside third party consultancy group.
  • Manage the annual Gender Pay reporting and the creation of the narrative in support of this to ensure the organisation meets relevant regulatory reporting requirements
  • Contribute to the People Directorate's senior leadership team.
  • Own the relationship with internal key stakeholder groups in relation to reward (union and Employee Forum etc)
  • Experience of reward, salary benchmarking, collating data and involvement during a compensation cycle
  • Lead on the implementation of reward Strategy as it is developed, including up-skilling and appropriate narrative

Key Requirements of jobholder

  • Expert in Reward.
  • Demonstrable proven track record in managing reward at operational and strategic level.
  • Experienced in TU negotiations on pay and reward.
  • Public sector experience.
  • Experience working with multiple third party agencies, with ability to manage these effectively.
  • An influencer, negotiator, great communication skills and gravitas - able to hold their own at Exec and Board level when required.
  • Experience in designing and implementing compensation and benefit packages
  • Commercially aware and able to balance risk and benefits when proposing solutions and providing advice.
