Remuneration: London Competitive base salary plus bonus

Location: Office based in London (London Bridge)

The Role:


The consulting unit within IWSR is a small but high-powered team regularly advising the C-suite of virtually all multinational alcohol manufacturers as well as most major domestic players. Leveraging our best-in-class database, combined with our world-class consumer research arm and global network of market experts, we have a unique ability to provide insights into the trends shaping the industry. Due to our singular focus on beverage alcohol, we have an unrivaled position of trust and, as a result, responsibility, to provide the most accurate view of opportunities and threats facing our clients, and to shape their strategic planning.


As a consulting manager with a focus on EMEA and APAC, this role is critical in supporting all consulting activities in the IWSR’s most important regions, liaising with multi-disciplined teams in the HQ and regional offices of multinationals and domestic producers.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high level consulting output, develop key client relationships and build internal team capabilities. They will need to be comfortable and confident in intellectually challenging discussions with senior stake-holders within client organisations, and add value to the IWSR brand in these interactions.

The role reports to the Director of Consulting in London. We also have a US based team, and this role will be required to work very closely with them as projects demand,



Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage large and complex projects
  • Deliver and present findings to a senior audience in a compelling and authoritative manner
  • Work closely with the commercial team and consulting leadership including market research leaders in scoping projects, developing proposals and pricing workstreams and delivery
  • Maintain continuous communication with clients to ensure projects are on-track and aligned with client expectations
  • Contribute to internal product and business improvement plans
  • Manage and develop more junior analysts and team members, including ensuring quality control for their work



Required Skills and Experience


  • Ability to define, drive and deliver projects to completion leveraging resources across multiple geographies
  • Steadfast curiosity and ability rapidly to model, analyse, interpret and distill large amounts of data (category x market as well as consumer research) into clear insights and recommendations
  • Proven ability to both deliver projects individually as well as through others
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, can communicate sophisticated concepts and findings simply and succinctly as clearly-expressed insights
  • Ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
  • Can think on their feet with logic and fact backed responses to challenging questions
  • Bachelor’s degree required, masters level and/or professional qualifications advantageous
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a top-tier consultancy or internal insights role
  • Beverage alcohol industry experience is a distinct advantage
