About the role:  

The Contingency Planning Support Officer will be responsible for providing professional, proactive support and coordination across the areas of emergency planning, business continuity and the CCTV Operations Centre.

The operations centre operates 24/7 so flexibility to work outside normal office hours is required to provide support for incidents.

We are a busy team looking for someone to join us who is enthusiastic, committed and knowledgeable about Emergency Planning or CCTV operations. You will have strong numerical, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to problem solve and communicate to a range of people, partners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:  

To provide professional, proactive support and coordination to the Contingency Planning service, across the areas of emergency planning, business continuity and the CCTV Operations Centre. To support the professional and administrative functions associated with the Contingency Planning service, supporting internal and external customers on a planned and reactive basis. 

The role purpose will include (not exhaustive): 

Working co-operatively as part of a team to provide comprehensive efficient and effective assistance to the Contingency Planning service. 

Provision of comprehensive and customer focused support, acting as a key point on contact to the Contingency Planning service. 

Coordinate and support the delivery of the Borough Resilience Forum and multiagency resilience groups, covering various workstreams, task and finish groups and associated administrative tasks. 

Coordinate and support the business continuity management arrangements for the Council. 

Provide wider administrative support regarding multiagency meetings, internal finance support (Oracle/SAP), purchase orders, requisitions, information gathering and collation.

Qualifications and Requirements:  

Numeracy and literacy qualification e.g. GCSE English and Maths or equivalent. 

Relevant professional qualification.
