Contract test and development technician

Full Job Description

My client, an innovative company at the cutting edge of electric motor technology in automotive, requires a test and development technician for a contract role outside IR35.

The test and development technician will be responsible for the testing and detailed inspection of electric motors and power electronic controllers, supporting concept builds for new projects, technology development, and inspection of customer returns.

Responsibilities:

• Assembly and disassembly of both motor and control test sample
• Conducting sample inspection, to operate measurement and test facilities and to accurately report findings and results
• Supporting engineers in the creation and improvement of test procedures for conducting tests
• Assembly of test rigs, involving installation and maintenance of mechanical assemblies

Requirements:

• Previous, proven working in a relevant test or analysis environment (ideally automotive, electrical motors or power electronic controllers)
• Hands on experience of mechanical assembly and disassembly
• Experience of setting up and operating test and measurement equipment to standard operating procedures.
• High attention to detail
