About this position:

We are currently working with a company at the forefront of innovative engineering solutions for the Marine industry.  They utilise that cutting edge, fast paced development experience to create world leading products that redefine the industry. They are now looking for a Controls Automation Engineer to join the team on a contract basis.

Job Responsibilities:
 

  • Design, develop, and maintain PLC-based control systems.
  • Utilize industry-standard PLC programming environments to create robust and efficient control solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of control algorithms to guarantee optimal performance under various operating conditions.
  • Provide technical expertise in system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and issue resolution during the deployment and operational phases.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in PLC technology and control systems to continually enhance system capabilities.


Experience Required:
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven expertise in PLC programming and control system design.
  • Experience with industry-standard PLC platforms and development environments – Ideally Beckhoff.
  • Knowledge of marine control systems and experience in the marine industry is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with HMI design and integration for system monitoring and user interaction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to system design.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
