We are currently working on behalf business at the forefront supply chain solutions and design industry who work with some of the UK’s leading brands. With customer service and technical knowledge being at the core of everything they do, they truly stand above the competition when it comes to delivering customisable warehousing and material handling solutions.

Due to an internal promotion we are looking for an experienced maintenance electrician that has good PLC knowledge, to work for this automation integration team. In the last couple of years 4 members of the original team have been promoted to the projects team and are now working out in the field, if you are looking for a company that will really invest in you then look no further. You will be working with the very best within the industry, at the largest most advanced automated warehouse in the UK. 

Operating 24/7 this is a panama shift pattern, with every other weekend off. 

The role of an Electrical Controls Engineer:

  • You are responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical support services.
  • Ensuring the highest level of Client satisfaction by identifying client problems, proactively monitoring client systems, and building and maintaining a support knowledge base.
  • Providing site-based engineering support to minimise downtime and ensure uptime and availability of the installed automated materials handling equipment.
  • Carrying out effective fault finding and occasional modification of industrial control systems.
  • Identify and implement updates or upgrades to the PLC and automation control systems.
  • Prioritise system faults and optimise uptime and availability of onsite automated materials handling equipment including conveyers, Auto Store solutions, and robotics.
 
Qualifications & experience required to be successful in this Controls Maintenance Engineers role:

  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering
  • Experience in fault finding and basic modification of PLC programs (Siemens and/or Beckhoff)
  • Experience of Profibus/ASi communications
  • Experience of Variable Speed Drives, Motors, and Safety Circuits
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
