The BMG Copyright team plays a fundamental role in the operational side of BMG’s Publishing  business - we are the custodians of BMG’s 3 million plus copyrights.

 

As BMG’s catalogue expands, the Copyright team continues to evolve and adapt to developments in the worldwide technological framework across the music business and performance rights organisations (PROs) worldwide. The team is responsible for the maintenance and handling of all aspects of BMG’s publishing deals – Contracts, Clients, Royalty Rates and Songs.

 

You’ll be responsible for monitoring timely song registration and high quality song data in BMG systems and CWR registrations; maintaining good relationships with affiliate offices, VIP clients, Collection societies; and ensuring the Copyright team’s high standards are met.

 

Please note that this role is on a 6 month contract.

 

Key Responsibilities.

  • Managing the process of adding new songs to the database.
  • Conducting Song Delivery quality checks and making sure they’re of a high standard.
  • Ensuring that there are no calculation errors within the database and fixing them when they arise.
  • CRR – Conducting song registration data checks.
  • Acting as a point person for certain VIP deals.
  • Managing general copyright queries from clients, affiliates and PRO’s.
  • Conducting data clean-up projects.

Your Profile.

  • Comfortable using MS Office and managing a database
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Organised, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including impeccable phone manner.
  • Must be articulate and friendly.
  • Proactive, with an inquisitive mind and eager to learn.

It’s a plus if you also have…

  • Experience in Rights management databases.
  • Experience or interest in music, film, TV or advertising.
  • A love of music.
