Full Job Description

We are looking for an mid weight experienced creative studio manager to bridge the gap between our design team and our client services team. The successful candidate be responsible for:


  • Managing all studio requests from the client services team.
  • Assessing briefs as appropriate, liaising with designers to assist with studio time estimates and identifying the correct designers for each project.
  • Planning the work into the studio weekly – this is a continuous ongoing process, requiring speed, agility and flexibility. Planning in a high volume of quick turnaround jobs alongside larger projects.
  • Quick, agile and effective solutions for same day issues that may arise
  • Reviewing daily resource and workload schedules and securing time with freelancers when the studio is at capacity
  • Building up a bank of suitable freelancers for all different skill sets that we can call upon
  • Ensuring briefs are detailed enough before the designer starts on the project
  • Overseeing Quality Control process for relevant projects, eg artwork & assisting with proofing
  • Ensuring all work is being saved to the design server on an ongoing basis and all filing protocols are being adhered to
  • Identifying which projects would make a good case study for our website and marketing materials in conjunction with the Client Services Team. Ensure these are worked on when there is capacity
  • Liasing with the designers to identify where they require relevant training and upskilling
  • Working with our MD & FD weekly to look at studio profitability
  • Encourage timesheets to be completed weekly and ensuring the right time is on the right jobs


About you:

The ideal candidate will:


  • Be based in the North of England and available to work in our Leeds office 1 day a week. Newcastle 1 day a week and the remaining days remote.
  • Understand the creative design process, end-to-end.
  • Be extremely organised and have the ability to continuously re-plan the studio workflow when higher priority projects come in.
  • Reactive, calm and solutions oriented
  • Be an excellent communicator, firm but fair, with great stakeholder management skills
