Overview

Hours:

  • Full time (40hrs)
  • Part time (30hrs)
  • Monday - Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)

 

Salary:

  • £21,700.00 - £25,400 per annum
  • Dependent on experience within Damage Recovery Credit Hire (based on 40 hour working week)

Our Claims Services division are looking for new team members to join our rapidly growing team, responsible for supporting our hugely successful UK rental operation.

 

We are looking for home based Claims Handlers/Recovery Representatives who will join our Damage Recovery Unit and Credit Hire Department ; 2 busy teams responsible for recovering damage to our vehicles and credit hire invoices for the whole of the UK & Ireland.

 

You'll be all geared up for a day negotiating with individuals, insurance companies, corporate customers and credit card companies. Whether it's maintaining accounts or interpreting loss data, you'll need a good eye for detail to ensure that we keep track of the numerous claims.  You will be confident in recovering credit hire invoices and liaising with third party insurers, solicitors and other third parties involved.

 

Everyday you'll be determining which claims must be worked, so we'll need you to demonstrate to us that you're able to make sound decisions based on your analysis of the situation. Along with this you'll be comfortable talking to both business and retail customers over the telephone and not afraid to have a difficult conversation.

 

Previous experience within Insurance, Claims / Debt Recovery or Sales is advantageous although not essential as full training is provided.

You will have the autonomy to manage your own workload, seeing your claims right through to recovery or litigation. You will need great attention to detail, self-motivation and great communication skills with the ability to influence the actions of others - on paper and over the phone.

 

Responsibilities

Credit Hire

  • Reviewing outstanding claims and negotiating with the representatives of the responsible party (insurance company, solicitor and corporate accounts)
  • Making decisions on the validity of the claim
  • Managing high volumes on outbound and inbound telephone calls
  • Meeting the monthly collections targets
  • Maintaining accurate account of collections activity and follow-up process
  • Maintaining accurate reporting of incoming payments
  • Producing written communication including tasks such as writing, editing and proofreading correspondence and brief reports, explaining technical procedures, policies and regulations

Damage Recovery

  • Reviewing damage claims and assigning collection strategies
  • Negotiating with individuals, insurance companies, corporate customers and credit card companies 
  • Maintaining accounts of collections and incoming payments on claim files
  • Producing professional written communication including tasks such as writing, editing and proofreading correspondence and brief reports 
  • Interpreting loss data in conjunction with debtor feedback in order to establish settlement needs and parameters
  • Interpreting loss data in conjunction with debtor feedback in order to establish if claim is valid and/or if the claim needs to be closed
  • Determining what claims must be worked in order to obtain payment
  • Interpreting recovery efforts to determine if a claim must be referred to a third party vendor for additional collection efforts

Key (minimum) requirements - Personal

  • Must be able to provide a suitable home-office environment which is free from noise and any distractions.
  • Must have a suitable alternative location from which to work in the event of an outage

Key (minimum) requirements - Technical

  • Internet access provided by a cable or DSL provider - WIRED CONNECTION AT ALL TIMES - WIRELESS CONNECTION IS PROHIBITED
  • Router must be VOIP compatible
  • Minimum upload speed of 2000 kbps (2.0 mbps) and Minimum download speed of 4000 kbps (4.0 mbps)

 

Additional Information

  • Will be provided with Laptop, Headset and Phone within the first few weeks of starting
  • Must have desktop/laptop (with Windows and Hardwired Internet) to work from in the meantime.
