Full Job Description

Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.

It’s not every job where you make a difference for the people of Scotland. But it’s what’s behind every job here.

Our work keeps Scotland’s water flowing, from reservoir to tap – and from sewer to treatment plant.

Do your bit by joining our Intelligent Control Centre (ICC) Team as a Data & Info Senior Analyst with the Business Improvement Team.

What you’ll do

You will wrangle the systems and data that make the ICC team and all of Scottish Water tick. We're talking about a critical role, ensuring top-notch service for our customers. You'll be diving deep into ICC systems and data, all to keep the gears turning 24/7/365 for smart operational decision-making.

You’ll be the wizard behind the scenes, crafting and maintaining reporting systems and data solutions. Think of it as the backbone for delivering A+ ICC services.

You won't just look at numbers; you'll speak their language, finding trends and patterns in complex data sets. Plus, you'll keep the wheels turning on systems and data for both internal and external business reports.

We're all about keeping things in check, so you’ll ensure data monitoring. You'll whip up exception reports, spot discrepancies, and make sure our systems and data are up to date.

In the world of data transfer, you'd be the bridge builder, ensuring seamless info flow between Scottish Water systems. You'll even help tweak or create interfaces and reports if needed.

Making sure our data is always up to date is part of the deal. You'll help maintain critical data accuracy and sort out any historic inaccuracies.

When it comes to sharing your findings, you're the maestro. You'll turn raw data into meaningful reports and trends that'll make management nod in approval.

What you’ll bring

You've got to be an Excel virtuoso, and you're not afraid to dabble in VBA, SQL, and Power BI. Plus, you're confident learning new systems, like System Data Migration, and help users make the switch.
You should also have experience with R for all your statistical modelling and data exploring needs.

You're the translator between tech and humans, making data talk and creating reports that people actually understand. Communication is your superpower, and you can connect the dots even in a fast-paced environment.

You're all about delivering top-notch results for our customers, on time and with a sprinkle of excellence, teamwork makes the dream work, and you're all about it. Lastly, you're not afraid to think outside the box.

Looking out for you

While the work we do is important, we know it’s not the only thing that matters. That’s why we make sure you have everything you need to find a good work-life balance.

You’ll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days of holiday every year (including public holidays). And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time. You can also take paid time off to volunteer in your community.

When it comes to major life events we have family-friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave. And for the everyday? We embrace flexible working.

For your future, there’s our pension (the ‘know-what-you’ll-get-when-you-retire’ kind), as well as life assurance.

As for some nice extras? You can expect an annual company bonus. Not to mention access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.

The not-so-small print

The salary range for this role is £31,380 - £43,350 depending on skills and experience.

If you’re interested in this role – or know someone else who might be - we’ll be accepting applications until midnight on the 4th of October 2023.

Job offers at Scottish Water are conditional, and will be confirmed on completion of our pre-employment screening, e.g. referencing, criminal record checks, license checks, etc. These checks are conducted on our behalf by a third party.
