Data Modeler

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Modeler to join our dynamic team in London. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data structures to support our organization's data needs. The Data Modeler will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication between business requirements and technical implementations, promoting data integrity, security, and scalability.

Working Model: Hybrid working

Applicants who are currently living in the UK and who has all the work authorization and would not require any visa sponsorship from the employer would be preferred.

Responsibilities :

1. Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various business domains.

2. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data structures.

3. Implement and enforce data standards, ensuring consistency and integrity across the organization's databases.

4. Optimize database performance through effective indexing, partitioning, and query optimization strategies.

5. Work closely with development teams to integrate data models into applications, ensuring seamless functionality.

6. Establish and enforce data governance policies, addressing data quality, privacy, and compliance concerns.

7. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance data modeling processes.

8. Create comprehensive documentation for data models, ensuring accessibility for team members and stakeholders.

9. Participate in data architecture discussions and contribute to the overall data strategy of the organization.

10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance data modeling skills.

Qualifications :

1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

2. Proven experience as a Data Modeler or in a similar role.

3. Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques (e.g. Erwin, PowerDesigner, EA Sparx)Snowflake experience is advantageous.

 4. Knowledge of modelling notation languages and methods.

4. Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).

5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

6. Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

7. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.

8. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

9. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

10. Continuous learning mindset to adapt to evolving technologies.
