Day Care Services Manager

Harlow District Council

Permanent, Full Time

£37,171.20 - £39,598.40 per annum

Location: Harlow

Essex County Council are delighted to be advertising on behalf of Harlow Council for the role of Day Care Services Manager

Please note this is a permanent, part time position. Paying £37,171.20 - £39,598.40 per annum. Grade 15 (full-time equivalent £46,464 - £49,498 per annum).

Working hours: 30 per week, working 6 hours per day Monday to Friday (banking 24 minutes per week to be used towards the shut down between Christmas and the New Year)

Harlow Council is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual to be responsible for the successful operation of Harlow Council's day service for older people.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the contractual arrangements with Essex County Council and for ensuring that Leah Manning Centre (a purpose-built, modern day care centre), is a centre for excellence in delivering best practice in Adult Social Care. They will be responsible for continually developing the service to ensure it meets the needs of its users as well as meetings all of its contractual obligations.

The ideal candidate will be service focused, committed and passionate about services for older people, and will demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills in order to communicate at all levels.

This is a key role that will involve the daily management of the service, as well as ensuring the wellbeing of its users and the team based at the centre. The post holder will be responsible for the management of contracts relating to the service whilst also supporting the Council's Age Well agenda.

As the Manager of the Leah Manning Centre, you will be working with service users, families, employees and external agencies. You will have the skills and abilities that encourage team working and motivate staff. You will effectively lead and inspire your team to provide the highest quality person-centred support and care.

With responsibility for financial and budgetary management, the successful candidate will need to be a strategic leader who can identify and implement improvements for the development of the service within defined budgets. This will involve ensuring value for money, using commercially sound best practice standards.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of leading a team successfully, managing complex contracts, and passionate about services for older people.

You will have:

* Previous managerial experience in a similar environment

* Strong working knowledge of regulatory care standards

* Fine tuned decision making skills

* Excellent organisational and communication skills

* Flexibility and willingness to be open and approachable
