Job Title: Commercial Delivery Lead


Position Overview: As the Commercial Delivery Lead, you will head a dynamic team, sized and scaled to effectively manage the commercial activities within your designated business area. Your role will encompass the responsibility for overseeing commercial strategies, procurement processes, supplier relationships, and internal policy implementation to enhance operational efficiency and achieve the bank's strategic objectives. You will also play a crucial role in training, developing, and expanding your team to meet growing business demands.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Collaboration and Support: Coordinate with peers across different business units to define and delegate responsibilities, ensuring all areas are well-equipped to manage contracts effectively.
  • Policy Implementation and Stakeholder Management: Drive the adoption of internal procurement policies and supplier management standards, influencing key stakeholders and aligning with the bank's commercial practices.
  • Strategy Development: Assist in the formulation of long-term category strategies that align with the overarching goals of the bank.
  • Commercial Management: Oversee and challenge strategic priorities, manage procurement activities, and ensure the realization of value from commercial operations.
  • Capability Development: Foster the growth of commercial competencies within the team and business areas through regular training sessions and continuous engagement.
  • Supplier and Contract Oversight: Handle supplier disputes, manage negotiations, and ensure robust management of key suppliers, including those categorized as Gold or cross-tower.
  • Risk and Compliance: Implement risk management controls and ensure compliance with bank policies, focusing on effective contract and supplier management.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Collaborate with subject matter specialists to drive sustainability within your category.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain performance metrics to monitor and report on service improvements.
  • System Utilization: Ensure consistent use of eProcurement systems in accordance with internal workflows and policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Provide commercial oversight and quality assurance for tender documentation and procurement processes handled by your team.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Technical Capabilities:
  • Extensive experience in managing complex supplier relationships and stakeholder engagements.
  • Proficiency in public procurement at the PCR level and familiarity with public-sector frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing entire project life cycles within a client-focused environment.
  • Strong background in post-award contract and supplier management.
  • MCIPS qualification or equivalent commercial experience.
