Job Title: Deputy Headteacher

Location: Primary and Secondary SEMH School 

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Dependent on experience

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in driving the school's vision and ethos forward. As Deputy Headteacher, you will work collaboratively with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and pastoral care are maintained throughout the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in the strategic development and day-to-day management of the school.
  • Lead and inspire staff to deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Take a proactive approach to promoting positive behaviour management strategies and fostering a culture of respect, resilience, and inclusion.
  • Oversee the implementation of a robust pastoral support system to address the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students.
  • Work closely with external agencies, parents, and carers to develop effective partnerships and support mechanisms for students.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school through data analysis, self-evaluation, and targeted intervention strategies.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to professional development, reflective practice, and ongoing learning.
 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant leadership qualifications. (Would also consider an experienced teacher/SENCO/Head of Year looking for a step up)
  • Significant experience working within a SEMH or alternative provision setting, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing staff to achieve outstanding outcomes for students.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEMH-related issues and a strong understanding of effective strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to promoting the well-being and academic success of all students.
