Title: Design Engineer
Reports to: Lead Design Engineer 
Location: Farlough Road, Dungannon Or Campsie
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time 
Hours: 39.75hrs
 
We have an exciting roadmap ahead for new products, services, production capacity and business expansion. As a result of this continued success, we are expanding our teams within Terex Recycling Systems. We currently have opportunities for a Design Engineer.  
 
Position Details  

Terex Recycling Systems specialize in the design and build of stationary and modular recycling systems to provide customers with a “one stop shop” to meet their recycling needs.  The business utilises material conveying, screening, shredding and sorting technologies along with its team’s knowledge, experience and skills to deliver the right solutions for customers - maximizing recovery from waste and diverting it from landfill. The business unit complements Terex’s other environmental lines: Zen Robotics (AI based automated wate sorting), Terex Ecotec (mobile wood processing, biomass and recycling equipment) and CBI (horizontal grinders, industrial chippers, flail debarkers).

Main Duties & Responsibilities 
•    Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products

•    Provide plant based solutions tailored to meet specific customer and site needs
•    Follow Group standards in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing
• Follow Group engineering standards and associated IT systems, to ensure effective global management of released engineering data
• Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability
•    Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers.
•    To investigate and address Customer Complaints in a timely manner
•  Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate to stay current and innovative.

About you  

•    Degree educated or equivalent experience in engineering, ideally with design experience in this or a similar industry
•    Proficient user of 3D Solid Modelling CAD, ideally CREO, and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
•    Good technical expertise in mechanical systems ideally with sheet metal and structural design
•    A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
•    Good English communication skill, both written and spoken

•    Working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems

•   Able to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines
•   Able to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident

•    Can identify risks both technical and commercial with proposed product change or new product
