Full Job Description

London Vet Specialists is starting a new chapter with a major expansion and relocation to a new state-of-the-art site in Hammersmith, West London. It’s a very exciting time to join us as we shape and create our boutique London multidisciplinary referral hospital which is due to open in Spring 2024. The hospital boasts an incredible location within a stone’s throw from the river Thames and nestled within the bustling and thriving Hammersmith & Fulham neighbourhood. The site is easily accessible by public transport from all areas of London and is also extremely well located for international travel links by air and train.

We are looking for an additional imager to join our the diagnostic imaging service to help shape and support the team. 

We currently have a referral team of  multiple disciplines including soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, neurology, emergency and critical care, ophthalmology, anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology and one diagnostic imager.

As part of the relocation, we are investing significantly in equipment and the new centre will have a brand new 1.5T Philips BlueSeal MRI scanner (this is a low-helium system so also fits our pledge to sustainability and the planet), Siemens 64-slice CT scanner, Samsung RS-85 ultrasound, C-arm fluoroscopy, digital radiography and Karl Storz new endoscopy and bronchoscopy systems to name just a few.


Your role and responsibilities:

London Vet Specialists (LVS) are currently recruiting for a board certified, residency trained or certificate holder (with referral experience) veterinarian in small animal diagnostic imaging to join our multi-disciplinary team of specialists.

You will be committed to developing the hospital and providing high standards of care to both our patients and referring veterinary surgeons. You must be able to work as a team as well as independently supporting our clients, patients and clinical teams in our busy practice. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require teamwork and dedication.

Key roles include:

 

·        As part of the service you will be a key team member, providing high quality patient care and contributing to the future strategic growth of the service

·        Provide clinical services as a diagnostic imager on either a part or full time basis

·       Work collaboratively with all other services and foster good relationships

·        Undertake supervision of our discipline specific and rotating interns

·        Demonstrate professional standards that will advance patient care

·        Be an ambassador for the team

You must fulfil the following requirements:

·        Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (or eligible to become a member)

·        Successful completion of a recognised ECVDI or ACVDI residency programme or commensurate certificate programme.

·        Excellent command of written and spoken English

·        Strong communication skills and professional approach

·        Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK

·        Ability and passion to help develop and shape a growing service

·     Desire to provide the best clinical service to all our patients

·        A team-player with a positive attitude willing to help shape our culture

·        A passion for mentoring and training colleagues
