We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking Digital Engineering / BIM Manager to join our established and growing team at Heathrow.
The project:
Mace are delivering over £1b in projects across security and asset management plus commercial programmes, which entail upgrading the scanners of the security lanes across all terminals and many of the assets getting into the end of its design life (lifts, media screens, LV panels, BMS...). There is currently no BIM team at Heathrow, as a result of Covid, therefore the candidate should be comfortable having oversight of all projects undertaken by the business unit, supporting the BIM teams from the consultants but ensuring compliance with Mace internal processes in addition to the EIRs from the client.

Supports clients and project teams with developing and maintaining information requirements and standards, developing and managing of processes within a common data environment and leading the delivery of the information management function for project team. Advises, innovates, develops and implement processes described within ISO19650 series. This includes how the information is produced and assured for digital delivery.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supports the delivery team/s throughout the
project lifecycle.
- Communicates effectively with
clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Develops
BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Develops and maintains an
understanding of ISO19650 and any applicable standards for clients.
- Ensures security protocols have been followed for
viewing and issuing of information on all projects.
- Implements governance and assurance processes.
- Ensuring compliance with the digital pathway on Mace Way and any
other associated pathways on the associated project(s).
- Reporting on compliance of project(s).
- Ensuring that digital management plans (DMP) are produced for all
projects.
- Monitors digital handover to completion.
- Participates in industry events to stay up to date on
the latest BIM developments.
- Produces information
requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR and EIR) as per ISO 19650.
- Produces information standards, methods and procedures, and shared
resources.
- Reads, understands and supports the
delivery of all Mace process and procedures guides.
- Reviews current technology solutions and research new solutions that
can be used to improve the BIM process including emerging
technologies.
- Stays up to date on the latest developments of applicable classifications.
- Supports construction sequencing strategy using information
models.
- Supports Mace cost team in preparation of
cost plans from information models.
- Provides training
on using databases, analysing data, creating templates, conducting
assurance, COBie production, and other BIM-related topics.
- Understands and performs in line with Information Management
Assignment Matrix (from Table A.1 of BS EN ISO 19650-2).
- Understand the setup of processes and tools for CDEs.
- Upskills the client team, Mace project managers and design
team by running BIM knowledge sharing sessions.
- Collaborates with the Mace PM and design teams on procedural elements and compliance with the Mace Way.
You’ll need to have:
- Autodesk Desktop and Cloud Products.
- Validation and verification tools.
- Visualisation tools.
- Intermediate Understanding of
ISO19650, BS1192, Common Data Environment (CDE), IFC, COBie, and
classification.
- Professional competencies - personal

- Level 6 qualifications (or equivalent) degree apprenticeship, degree with honours - for example bachelor of the arts (BA) hons, Bachelor of Science (BSc) hons, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, level 6 award, level 6 certificate, level 6 diploma, level 6 NVQ.
