The opportunity

We seek a creative, passionate and dynamic Digital Copywriter looking to bring their flair for language to communicate a wide range of exciting youth focused campaigns.

Using their love of crafting and developing compelling copy, they will play a vital role in communicating We Are Futures programmes and campaigns to our key audience of teachers (and often young people and families too).

The role will focus on developing communication that inspires participation in our programmes and ultimately cuts through the noise in schools and beyond.


About you

  • With a proven track record as a Digital Copywriter, you are looking to take the next step in your career communicating purpose driven campaigns that make a difference to young people primarily across digital channels.
  • You will have worked with a range of organisations and brands and have experience across a variety of channels. Specifically websites, email and social. You will be experienced in writing copy to drive digital acquisition, engagement and retention and you know how to capture attention and gain cut-through.
  • You will be passionate about creating work that drives awareness, engages and converts e.g. driving programme registrations or content downloads.
  • You will be naturally curious, adaptable and collaborative with an ability to understand and relay brand and social impact objectives.
  • You will have a keen interest in the issues facing young people as well as either direct knowledge and/or a desire to understand the needs of teachers and educators.


Location

We have offices in London and Edinburgh and follow a flexible, hybrid way of working. This role will be based in London.



The role

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop brilliant copy that elevates how our programmes are communicated with strong appeal to teachers and young people.
  • Create campaign m essaging guides which act as a communication bible for each programme helping our clients to understand how we will land key programme and brand messages and TOV to all audiences.
  • Develop, write and proof teacher-facing (and over time other audiences) digital content including email, registration pages, SEO-driven website copy and social media assets.
  • Liaise with our internal experts to ensure a detailed understanding of programme hooks, benefits and relevance. You will be required to take information from education and digital specialists and write plans based on this information and historic conversion data.
  • Understand your target audience (teachers, young people, and families) and how to attract their attention (training and support provided).
  • Keep an awareness of up-to-date knowledge of best practices and trends of copywriting for various channels/mediums.
  • Actively contribute to the wider team objectives - bringing ideas, insights and suggestions for improvement.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on elevating the quality of copy in communications.

Requirements

Essential

  • A dynamic and creative copywriter with an eye for detail and faultless grammar.
  • In-depth understanding of digital channels (website, email, social) and how to effectively communicate via them. In particular how to construct effective subject lines and body copy for email, short-form copy and captions for social and SEO-driven website copy with a demonstrable understanding of the importance of clear calls to action.
  • An understanding of how to use copy and creativity together to drive impact.


  • An interest in working in an agency that supports young people through education and beyond.
  • An organised self-starter, calm under pressure, able to work to briefs and meet timelines.
  • Able to take on feedback openly and collaboratively.
  • A team player working flexibly with different teams across the agency


  • Copywriting experience in an agency
  • Ideally, you will have experience in writing for teachers, educators, and/ or young people.



Training to be provided on:

  • The Education landscape, language/vocabulary used by teachers in different phases (eg EY, KS1, 2, 3, 4).
  • We Are Futures style guide and other insights around how to optimise comms performance through copy.
