Full Job Description

We’re on a mission to provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

We close critical skill gaps in the workforce through a new kind of apprenticeship that combines work and learning. We begin by recognizing high-potential individuals both inside and outside of a company's current workforce and then we create applied, guided and equitable learning programs, with measurable impact. Because we believe the world needs a better way to match its potential.

We work with over 1,000 leading companies including the likes of Microsoft, Citi and Just Eat to help solve their business-critical problems, and we’ve trained over 12,000 professional apprentices in the tech and data skills of the future. This is made possible by our global team who are driven to achieve a mission that matters, together.

Join Multiverse and help us set a new course for work.

The opportunity

We're hiring a DEI lead to help Multiverse define what it means to create a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive organisation, by harnessing the power of difference towards collective success. Sitting within the people team and having a direct reporting line into the CEO office, in this role you'd have the unique opportunity to work within a business with a social mission, by helping us live this internally.

Specifically, you will:

  • Create the dialogue and infrastructure for Multiverse to move into the next stage of innovation against our DEI agenda by setting up our DEI operating rhythms within the org

  • Using academic literature and deep knowledge of systemic issues to develop a new voice for DEI work at Multiverse

  • Working in direct partnership with the executive team to both provide insight on our current DEI metrics and sentiment, creating and embedding our DEI strategy in line with our findings

  • Working closely with the people partnering, talent and people experience teams to ensure that DEI is embedded in every single employee and candidate touchpoint

  • Speaking to customers, apprentices and employees about the reality of their working lives, and how we can build a people/DEI strategy that reflects the product outcomes we seek to drive

  • Owning our dogfooding strategy - working closely with the tech and learning teams to ensure all new product launches launch internally first, and that we are using our own, equitable products to help our employees fulfil their potential

  • Measuring internal outcomes of our equity-related programming such as a Multiverse leadership accelerator, ensuring all programming achieves the outcomes they set out to

  • Find ways to build community across lines of difference, building momentum towards Multiverse's success

About you:

  • Need for speed: You’ve held a DEI role in a fast-paced scaleup that’s grown rapidly, ideally with presence in both the US and UK.

  • Subject matter expertise: You have demonstrable experience of leading a DEI strategy, and have a deep understanding of how strategic DEI practices can transform organisations

  • Passion : You believe in the power of people teams to build thriving companies and cultures. You stop at nothing to make sure that this is felt in every team in the business.

  • Right hand person: you know how to build relationships with employees of all levels - you’re empathetic, compassionate, effective and commercially minded.

  • Thought leader: we’re not looking for your traditional DEI leader- we’re looking for someone who sees DEI as a product and who innovates constantly to improve employee & business outcomes

  • The job is never done:   You pride yourself on your attention to detail and never dropping the ball. You understand that you can only expect excellence across the business if you demonstrate it yourself.

  • You believe passionately in social mobility and equity, and you want to inspire apprentices to kickstart their careers in data

  • You align closely with our values and can share examples of how you have demonstrated them.

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 7 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & Wellness - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Gympass and access to Spill - all-in-one mental health support

  • Hybrid & remote work offering - with weekly visits to the London office and the opportunity to work abroad 45 days a year

  • Flexibility - 4 day or 80% contracts will be considered for this role

  • Team fun - weekly socials, company-wide events, and office snacks!

Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status.
