An opportunity has now arisen to join Gard (UK) Limited as a Deputy Underwriter.

You will support the Senior Underwriters in the London Underwriting team, handling both P&I and Hull & Machinery risks along with other related covers offered by Gard. Working as a Deputy Underwriter, you will assist with the daily administration for existing members and clients as well as marketing and sales of insurance products, renewal preparation, data analysis and risk evaluation of new clients.

We are looking for somebody with relevant experience and ideally with 2-4 years in the shipping and/or marine insurance industry. You will be proactive and strive to provide a high level of customer service with the ability to work accurately with data and IT systems. Good interpersonal skills are essential, and you will be comfortable dealing directly with members, clients and brokers, as well as actively making use of the internal competence of your Gard colleagues. Some travel may be required.
