Supply Desk are on the lookout for a creative and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join a dynamic arts department in the Aylesbury area. As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students to explore their creativity, develop their performance skills, and gain a deeper appreciation for the world of theatre and drama. You will have the opportunity to shape young minds, foster a love for the arts, and contribute to a vibrant school community.

The Role:

  • Design and deliver comprehensive drama curricula that align with educational standards and objectives.
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves creatively.
  • Lead drama classes and workshops, incorporating a variety of teaching techniques and approaches to engage students in the learning process.
  • Guide students in developing their acting, improvisation, and storytelling abilities through practical exercises and theatrical productions.
  • Organize and direct school plays, musicals, and drama performances, involving students in all aspects of production (e.g., acting, set design, costumes, etc.).
  • Foster teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills by encouraging students to work together on group projects and performances.
  • Introduce students to different theatre styles, genres, and playwrights, broadening their understanding and appreciation of drama.

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • QTS (Preferred) However, teachers with relevant teaching qualification and experience welcome to apply.
  • Proven experience in teaching drama to students at the middle or high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of drama techniques, acting methods, and theatrical production processes.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creative potential and develop their performance skills.
