Director – Global Strategy (Location Strategy / Economic Incentives), EMEA

This role is also open to major European markets including Paris, Berlin(remote), London & Warsaw.


Job Description:

Newmark is growing around the world. As part of our growth journey, we are currently seeking a Director for our Global Strategy practice (Location Strategy / Economic Incentives) in Europe.

You will work collaboratively with a global and local team of consultants, with an emphasis on growing our market-leading specialties in location strategy, site selection, footprint optimization, and economic incentives advisory capabilities.

The position day-to-day will focus on advising clients across all industries, asset types, and levels of maturity; as they access markets, optimize their supply chains, improve operational performance and implement unique location strategies on a global basis.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Conduct primary and secondary research for consulting projects and business development.
  • Manage portions of projects through the processing of large quantities of data and information
  • Create innovative location decision tools that address the financial and operational concerns of our clients.
  • Develop custom client ready deliverables with respect to various types of analytical issues, e.g:
  • location and demographic comparisons;
  • greenfield, brownfield and repurposed sites and buildings
  • infrastructure assessment and research, including all forms of utilities
  • transportation and logistics studies;
  • business climates and community profiling
  • economic incentives modeling and negotitation (EU, country, regional and local level)
  • operating costs and operating conditions
  • other special data aggregation and mining efforts
  • Participate in client meetings, workshops, presentations and industry events
  • Support the development of location strategy and economic incentives advisory proposals
  • May perform other duties as required.



Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in one of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Law, Tax, Economics, Engineering, or Urban & Regional Planning
  • MBA or other specialized master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience
  • Experience in a management consulting environment, ideally with a focus on Location Strategy, Economic Incentive Advisory, or Economic Development Consulting
  • Problem solving, analytical, research and client service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • English is essential, other languages are desirable (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Polish)
  • Advanced proficiency with technology and client service tools; PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Power BI, and related packages
  • Ability to work effectively in large teams and independently
  • Ability to travel as needed.
