About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a London based business manager to support governance, oversight and strategic reporting for its International Markets business. The role will involve working across our various lines of business, international regions and legal entities to produce materials supporting the oversight of the business as it grows. Materials will include regulatory meetings, legal entity governance papers and strategic planning, management oversight and reporting. Additional responsibilities will include a focus on financials and KPIs across the platform as well as representing Markets in projects and initiatives critical to our strategic plans.

Wells Fargo’s EMEA Markets division (part of Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Bank) provides institutional clients, alternative asset managers and corporates with a comprehensive suite of sales, trading, structuring and execution of a wide range of financial markets products including Foreign Exchange, Rates, Fixed Income, Equities, Credit, ABS and Structured Lending and Risk Management Solutions.

This role requires a collaborative individual capable of initiating action and managing change in a fast-paced environment. A passion for precision and results, personal accountability for achievement as well as strong relationship management, influencing and execution skills are important.

In this role, you will:

  • Produce senior level presentations, regulatory updates, committee papers, board reports etc.
  • Manage a controlled process to support efficient and effective governance and reporting across the Markets business.
  • Develop and produce papers to support the Head of Markets International and regional COOs in the oversight of, and delivery against strategic business plans. 
  • Work closely with the International CIB, Global Markets strategy teams and APAC COO to ensure accurate representation of International Markets.
  • Ensure that the strategic vision and objectives are understood and embedded within the various support groups.
  • Partner with the International finance team to develop and track financial performance and work closely with Finance teams to ensure a narrative which ties to our strategy.
  • Lead / coordinate applicable projects, working together with cross-functional teams including Treasury, Risk, Legal and Operations.
  • Maintain relevant legal entity documentation (e.g. Strategic Plans, foundational documents – ICARA, ICAAP, ILAAP etc, Org Charts, relevant policies and procedures).
  • Drive the continuous improvement of business processes, reporting and governance.
  • Key point of contact for Outsourcing, Hiring, Graduate recruitment, Business continuity planning, Health and safety regulation and security within the Markets division.
  • Ensure that the business is comprehensively meeting all its internal and external governance and regulatory obligations by coordinating and executing relevant deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Markets business or in a Finance or Strategy function (inhouse or top tier consulting firm) having covered a Markets / Trading business.
  • Broad knowledge of financial markets with strong experience in at least one product area.  Knowledge of industry trends including but not limited to new products, market functions, regulatory changes.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet, income statement and other financial reporting.
  • Experience working with large data sets and the ability to spot trends and synthesis key messages to enable management decision making.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to execute with precision in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Creative, analytical and strategic thinking skills with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and planning skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with others and navigate a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills and a broad intellectual capacity.
  • Flexible approach to working hours in a deadline driven environment.
