Unlock an exclusive opportunity to leverage your expertise and join our Frequent Borrower Debt Capital Markets team. The team advise highly-rated sovereign, supranational and agency (SSA) borrowers on debt issuance opportunities to fund public expenditure and development/sustainability focused lending. The team is one of the leading banks in the space, and originates over $250bn of debt securities each year covering approximately 70 high profile clients across the globe, and working in close partnership with the Frequent Borrower syndicate desk, EMTN desk (together the Frequent Borrower Primary desk) as well as with sales, trading and research colleagues. The team is made up of six people based across three locations: London, Paris and Frankfurt, and forms part of the wider 20-person Frequent Borrower Primary desk.

Job summary

As a Analyst or Associate in Sovereign, Supranational and Agency (SSA) Debt Capital Markets team, you will get a chance to work in close partnership with the Frequent Borrower syndicate desk, EMTN desk (together the Frequent Borrower Primary desk) as well as with sales, trading and research colleagues. This role is perfect for you if you are analytical, have a strong attention to detail, and can multi-task and process information quickly. We value your ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of people both internally and externally.

Job responsibilities

  • Support originators in pitching and execution of live transactions
  • Manage our control environment, including keeping track of key audit, regulatory and legal steps during live executions, in a time sensitive environment
  • Compile and analyzing market data and statistics
  • Prepare the presentation materials

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills 

  • You demonstrate strong interest in the capital markets, with an understanding of macro fundamentals
  • You demonstrate excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail, with an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and prioritise workload for multiple professionals
  • You are highly motivated self-learner with ability to multi-task and work on projects independently
  • You have strong verbal and written communication
  • You have ability to get on with a range of different people, adapting to a given situation and audience
  • You demonstrate a high level of proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • You have prior experience in debt capital markets or a related areas
  • You demonstrate a proficiency in  Bloomberg and Pitch Pro
  • You demonstrate professional working proficiency in a European language, with a preference for French or German

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
