Full Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Developer to be part of the Fixed Income Technology team, directly supporting the Front Office within Jefferies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Hands on development and design of our applications. We use a range of languages and technologies; therefore, candidate should be confident in such an environment.
- Assist with design and code reviews in CI environment.
- Improve and maintain existing codebase based on team guidelines.
- Confident in taking on projects and seeing them through to production.
- Work and collaborate with teams across business lines and regions.
- Providing 2nd level support.
Required Background:
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies.
- Ability to work well with both business managers, traders and developers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
Required Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience of Java.
- Knowledge of low latency and event driven programming.
- Knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot.
- Knowledge of Microservice based architecture.
- Unix shell scripting.
- Databases: Oracle, Postgrers.
- Tools: Git, SVN, Team City, Maven, Gradle, Strong DevOps skills.
Desired Experience/Skills:
- Broad spectrum knowledge of Financial IT environments
- Previous experience from a similar position within Front Office
- Fixed Income Credit & Rates Bond / Repo trading system experience
- Knowledge of AMPS, KDB, Messaging Systems (such as JMS, MQ, Tibco etc.), Ion Trading, Fix and/or similar technologies
