Full Job Description

Role: EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Haringey, London

Start Date: End of May

Are you passionate about supporting young learners with special educational needs? Dunbar Education is delighted to collaborate with a large Haringey school, renowned for its inclusive approach to education. We are currently recruiting for a dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a non-verbal child, utilising Makaton and PECs to communicate. The role is full-time starting at the end of May.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide one-to-one support to a non-verbal child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

- Utilize Makaton and PECs to facilitate communication and language development

- Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans

- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment

- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child's specific needs are met

Requirements:

- Experience working with young children with special educational needs, particularly those who are non-verbal

- Proficiency in Makaton and PECs is essential

- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support individual learning styles

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is desirable but not essential
