Early Years Teaching Assistant

Lambeth

ASAP Start

Salary: 88-95.16 per day

A large Special Needs School Lambeth is recruiting several Early Years Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. These are full-time positions for the remainder of the academic year and beyond, with roles initially paid via the agency on timesheets.

The school caters for students aged 2-19 with an EHCP for Autism and complex needs. All students at the school are working at an Early Years level, therefore they are looking for staff who have a strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework. It is important any shortlisted staff are comfortable working in the primary or secondary department following the Early Years framework. The school has a focus on learning, alongside fostering independence in a fun and nurturing way.

Shortlisted candidates must have proven experience in the UK. A strong working knowledge of the EYFS framework is essential. Classes generally have 4-6 students, with 2-4 teaching assistants depending on the class needs. Classes are mixed ability; therefore, it is imperative you are confident taking part in all activities and lessons. You must also be comfortable completing personal care. Many of the students have communication difficulties, therefore experience with PECs and Makaton is desirable.

This is a high achieving school, and they are keen to employ staff who are dedicated, dynamic and have a real passion for SEND. In return they can offer a happy working environment and competitive pay rates.

Key Skills:

  • Early Years qualification or a minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Experience within a UK SEND school or Early Years setting.
  • Be available full time for the full academic year.
  • Experience and understanding of ASD and complex needs.
