Nordson Measurement and Control Solutions , a leading provider of sensor and system solutions for precision applications, is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team in Maldon, UK as an Electrical Design Engineer . The Electrical Design Engineer is workin under the direction of Electrical Engineering Manager and Engineering Development Manager to provide electrical design for new and existing products. The individual will be responsible for the electrical design over the full life cycle of new products from initial conceptual design through volume outsource manufacture, including ongoing support.

Key Skills

• BSc degree 2-1 or higher in Electronics. 5+ years experience in R&D and engineering experience in related fields.
• 5+ years experience in designing electrical systems in new product development and launching into volume manufacture.
• 5+ years experience in firmware development (VHDL/Verilog) within FPGA's in support of embedded electronics designs.
• 5+ years experience in using electronic CAD packages, including schematic, PCB layout, electrical simulation as part of new product development. Altium experience preferred.
• Experience and knowledge in analog circuit design/troubleshooting, digital design, embedded microprocessor design, and experience in creating mixed signal analog/digital PCB layout designs.
• Experience with optical/electronics designs and instrumentation/measurement based systems preferred.
• Some experience in Industrial Qualifications processes such as CE, UL, RoHS, and safety regulations preferred.

Experience

• Must have proven track record as member of cross functional team in delivering new designs/projects into manufacturing to specification and on time and to budget.
• Experience and aptitude for hands-on work in prototype development including testing, investigation of design issues, including those reported by customers in the field as well as manufacturing.
• Self starter and motivated to think ahead how to meet deadlines, work tasks in parallel, and work extra hours when required to support project deadlines.
• Experienced and supportive of Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Fluent in the use of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Project.
• Good understanding of Opto-electronics, Mechanical and Software design.
• Ability to work successfully with peers, sales, and service personnel.
• Ability to travel as requested, including some international (primarily to US) a few times a year.
• Good technical communication skills - both oral and written - at employee, manager, and upper management level on technical and business topics.
