Electrical Learning and Development Manager

Attention all Electricians! Join the Centrica Delivery team to train our field Electricians.  We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering technical and behavioural learning to Field Engineers and Apprentices. As an Electrical Learning and Development Manager , you'll be responsible for end-to-end delivery and facilitation of all learning programmes across Centrica.

Location and working hours

This is a site-based role in our Thatcham Academy and your hours of work will be 8:30 until 5 Monday to Friday.  Travel to other academy sites will be required on occasion.

The below Qualifications are a MUST for this role.  We will provide you with the training and skills required to become a competent educator/trainer.

  • Electrical NVQ Level 3 qualification - City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition
  • City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent

About the Role:

  • Lead the learning delivery of Electrical Engineering programmes ensuring employees can demonstrate competence across all aspects of the role and are compliant with relevant legislation and industry codes of practice.

  • Deliver inspiring learning solutions which in turn will impact positively on our customers’ experience of British Gas and Centrica.

  • Planning and delivery of both Academy and Field-Based training schedules.

  • Ensure that all pre-training / preparation activity is completed prior to the sessions.

  • Ensure learning delivery is compliant with awarding-body and Centrica quality frameworks and systems across all programmes. 

  • Liaise with operational stakeholders and the L&D teams to ensure the Programme is delivered on time and on budget.

  • Ensure HSE and Legal conformance as well as actively promoting and role-modelling safety performance.

  • Ensure Learning site and training locations are appropriately prepared and are conducive with safe and effective learning environments.

  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders across Centrica to ensure quality delivery of a consistent learning programme.

  • Ensure operational and regulatory risks are managed and escalated as appropriate.

  • Lead by example in delivery, facilitation and assessment methods.

  • Review learning evaluations and act on feedback to support continuous improvement.
