Full Job Description

Evolt are once again looking for a Field Services Electrical Project Engineer to work for a leading UK Charge Point Operator.

Your primary responsibilities will involve facilitating the deployment of new charge point infrastructure for our client. This will encompass supporting all aspects of the process, from initial planning to final implementation.


Your tasks are likely to include:


Infrastructure Planning: Collaborating with stakeholders to determine the optimal locations for new charge points based on factors like demand, accessibility, and power supply availability.

Technical Design: Working on the technical specifications and design of the infrastructure, ensuring it meets safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Power Supply Coordination: Liaising with utility companies and relevant authorities to secure the necessary power supply connections for the new infrastructure.

Project Management: Overseeing the execution of the deployment process, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and successful implementation.

Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring that all aspects of the project adhere to relevant regulations, permits, and standards, including safety regulations and environmental considerations.

Troubleshooting and Support: Providing support during the deployment phase, addressing any technical issues or challenges that may arise, and ensuring smooth operation post-installation.


The role:

  • On Street – roads/public highways (councils/local authorities)
  • Off street - private car parks (rail stations, leisure centres, NCP, cinemas etc)
  • Coordinate with DNOs, IDNOs, and ICPs to assess grid robustness and capacity thresholds pre-emptively.
  • Develop feasible designs for 1 to 20 charge points based on grid capacity assessments.
  • Collaborate and provide feedback to sales teams.
  • Partner with project managers throughout all project phases, from inception to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for grid connections.


Ideal experience/qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Service Procurement, preferably within an engineering industry / highways delivery or contracting environment including awareness of DNO structure, new connection requirements and grid capacity discussions.
  • Level 3 NVQ Electrical (2357-44)
  • CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply or similar
  • ISO 9001 / 14001-aware.
