Our
engineering team is highly collaborative and our electronic, software
and mechanical teams work together daily to solve complex engineering
problems.
As an Electronics Engineer you will be involved in the full life cycle development of electronic systems.
You will be designing and developing electronics and electrical systems for robotics used in jet engine inspection, repair and maintenance and other applications within the aerospace sector.
You will be developing tools which meet and satisfy customer requirements and will be working with both the internal business and external customers.
You will report to a Technical Lead for project tasks for which you are responsible, as well as a People Leader for your career development and team working. You will support the delivery of a range of projects and products, working on challenging projects that encourage analytical and creative thinking and support our robotic and automation systems development.
About you
- You have a degree (or equivalent) in Electronics engineering, Electrical engineering or a related subject
- You have experience as an Electronics engineer in analogue and digital circuit design.
- You have experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and assembly
- You have experience of simulation tools for circuit design and analysis.
- You are passionate about being involved in the full life cycle product development
- You are positive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to apply initiative
- You have good organisational skills and are able to prioritise tasks
- You have strong oral and written communication skills
- You have demonstrable knowledge and experience with electronics and electro-mechanical systems
Main role responsibilities
- You will design electronic circuits and systems, schematic capture & analysis, PCB layout, build, test, diagnostics and validation
- You will design the electrical power and control systems for industrial robots including, documentation, build, test and validation.
- You will participate in design reviews, risk analysis and failure mode investigations
- You will research and develop new product options and technologies
- You will fabricate test jigs for new hardware and write commissioning scripts
Some additional desirable skills:
- You have experience with Altium Designer
- You have experience with designing and laying out small PCB designs
- You have experience with SMD soldering techniques
- You have experience of power supply topologies and their application
- You have motor control theory and gain setting experience
- You have experience with communication protocols
- You have experience with programming embedded systems, particularly in C and C++
- You have Python experience
- You have experience working in a high-tech engineering company
