Salary: £41,208 - £45,054 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Working Hours:  37 hours per week. Flexible options available 

Contract Type: Secondment

A role at the heart of the County Council - influencing best practice on engaging with citizens and those who use council services.

About the Role

Due to an increase in public consultations,  we have a opportunity to join the Chief Executive's Policy Team as an Engagement and Consultation Manager on a six month secondment. The post holder  will advise managers on best practice on engaging with residents and service users. You will need to be well organised, have good influential skills  and have the ability to learn quickly about the range of services and functions the Council provides.  You will also advise, support and challenge managers to ensure that the Council meets its legal obligations and delivers good quality, meaningful public engagement to achieve its objectives.  

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • Knowledge of the principles of good public consultation including the legal framework. 
  • Understanding of different engagement approaches including digital engagement
  • Ability to advise, support and challenge service managers
  • Ability to prepare and present clear and structured reports and presentations
  • Good organisational and digital skills 
  • An understanding of how issues of equality, diversity and inclusion impact on engagement activity
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage a diverse workload.
