Our Client, Urenco; trusted, long-term supplier to the nuclear
industry, specialising in safe, cost effective and reliable uranium
enrichment services, are looking for an Engineering Materials Planner
(E&I) on a contract basis (inside IR35), to be based in Capenhurst
near Chester.

Job
Purpose
The purpose of the Urenco Chemical Processing Operations
Materials Technical Specifier is to support the Plant’s reliability
program through the provision of Critical spares. This will be
delivered by providing a professional and thorough analysis of the
critical equipment list and developing detailed technical
specifications for spare parts to be procured by the Materials
Department.
The Chemical processing Operations Materials
Technical Specifier works as part of the Plant Reliability team to
ensure the seamless provision of critical spare parts onto stock The
role is days based. This a critical role to ensure the correct
technical specification of spare parts for Production Critical
equipment as well as recommended stock holding, re-order points etc
and definition of Bills of Materials for critical equipment.
Compliance with all Urenco procurement protocols will be a key part of
the role.
The role holder will be expected to work within the
procurement tracking system supported by the Materials team. The role
holder will specify the correct QA grading for the materials being
specified, and then fill in the appropriate stock holding request
forms for procurement of items to stock.
The Materials Technical
Specifier is deeply imbedded within the Plant Reliability Team, their
role is critical to ensure the seamless provision of critical spare
parts as stock items. The role of the Materials Technical Specifier is
to update/ produce accurate technical specifications of all mechanical
“Critical Equipment” for procurement, ensuring all of Urenco’s
compliance requirements are met (Quality Grading, Materials & Test
Certification, Regulatory, etc).
Other requirements of the role include:
- Contacting 3rd party suppliers to obtain
quotations (where possible) or escalate any technical queries to the
relevant disciplines.
- Generation of material request
forms for implementation into CMMS (SAP), including recommended stock
holding levels and re-order points.
The role holder will be
accountable certain KPI’s within the procurement workflow and able to
provide regular updates on the progress and identification of bottle
necks or failings within their systems.
Accountability
- The update of existing and generation of new Electrical and
Instrumentation equipment technical specifications for procurement
- Site walk downs to ensure that the “As installed” equipment aligns with the documentation within the Urenco document management system. Where discrepancies exist escalate to the engineering department.
- Make initial contact with vendors to
identify availability of spares, escalating to Engineering department
if change management processes need to be followed

Determine the correct Quality Grading Level in line with the Urenco
Capenhurst Standards and ensure the requirements for that level are
met including test certification
- Generation of Material
Master documentation to UCP agreed standards
- Update
Technical Basis of Maintenance documentation to reflect the spares
holding to UCP agreed standards
- Ensure materials on high
hazard critical duties are specified to comply with the correct
standards and legislation (DSEAR, PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, SIL etc)
Specific know-how & skills required
• Ability to work
off-site at supplier premises
• Proficient in the use SAP
WM system
• Experience in material specification and
standards
• Proficient in the use of site computer systems
and applications
