English & Maths Teacher - Peterborough

Job type- Permanent, Fulltime

Salary- £28,850 + 2% area weighting.

Hours- 35 hours per week (+ 5 hours paid lunch)

Location- Nacro Education Centre, Peterborough

We are in search of an English and Maths teacher to join our Education Centre based in Peterborough. This isn't a typical teaching job. There are no long hours, grading papers or standardized tests. Just life-changing connections with students. As an educator with us, you'll form meaningful bonds, guiding students toward accomplishing their goals.

What will I be doing as an English and Maths teacher?

The purpose of the role is to oversee day to day delivery of the Maths and English qualifications from Entry Level 1 through to Functional Skills (Level 2) to our students who are studying various vocational courses. The post holder will engage and develop students in learning Maths and English functional skills as well as support their personal and social development.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Design, plan and deliver the English and/or Maths curriculum in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), awarding body standards and Nacro curriculum guidance and quality standards.
• Implement the Nacro English/Maths strategy aims to ensure the needs of Nacro Learners are met.
• Evaluate and assess the work of learners in relation to the curriculum criteria and provide timely, constructive, and helpful learner feedback to enable their progression to next steps.
• Actively engage with students in decisions that affect them, through involvement activities ranging from providing information, requesting feedback, consulting, to facilitating participation by the student.

Requirements for this role:

• L2 English & Maths is essential.
• A Teaching qualification, CET/PTTLS OR DET equivalent or above is preferred. However, support will be given to those willing to work towards a teaching qualification.
• An Enhanced with Barred Lists DBS check is essential.
