English Teacher - SEN School based in Dorset

Location: Cranborne, Dorset

Salary: 30,000 - 44,870 per annum (M1-UPS2)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Start date: September 2024

Position: English Teacher

This brilliant SEN School are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our supportive team and teach students aged 11-16 with social and emotional needs starting in September. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable young people and inspire a love of English literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons that engage and inspire students with SEMH needs
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and promote progress and attainment
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to make learning accessible and enjoyable for all students
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and external agencies to support the holistic development of each student
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4
Understanding of the social and emotional needs of students and experience working in an SEN setting (desirable but not essential)
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students and promote inclusive practice
A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
