Company Description

  • Our client is an Extended Reality (XR) wellness startup that aims to bring unique Breathwork and Meditation VR/MR experiences to users.
  • They are seeking a talented freelance Environment Artist to join their team and contribute to the creation of stunning and immersive environments for their Virtual and Mixed Reality Breathwork and Meditation experiences.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience in working on extended reality (VR/AR/MR) projects, demonstrating a strong portfolio showcasing their expertise in creating visually captivating and realistic environments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with their creative team to conceptualise and design visually stunning environments that enhance the meditation and breathwork experiences.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools and software to create high-quality 3D environments, including landscapes, nature scenes, and serene settings.
  • Ensure seamless integration of art assets within the virtual and mixed reality platforms, optimizing performance and visual fidelity.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects, adhering to timelines and delivering high-quality work within agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Iterate and refine environment designs based on feedback from the team to achieve the desired aesthetic and user experience.

Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as an Environment Artist, preferably in the field of extended reality (VR/AR/MR).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating visually captivating and realistic environments.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender) and the Unity game engines.
  • Excellent understanding of lighting, composition, color theory, and texture mapping to create immersive and aesthetically pleasing environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to balance visual quality with performance optimization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
  • A relevant degree in Game Design, Computer Graphics, or a related field is preferred.
