This is a newly created role due to company growth, and you will be working with a dedicated and expanding team.

This person will be working across a new infrastructure contract across Scotland and Northern Ireland, and will play a key role in delivering strategic initiatives and solutions to ensure that the company and client meet their sustainability and environmental goals. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an environmentally conscious and employee-focused business, managing your own diary and working to drive continual improvement.

The Environment and Sustainability Manager will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert advice and support to operatives, ensuring all obligations and commitments are met both internally and externally with clients.
  • Interacting with the wider HSEQ team to provide guidance within the division.
  • Undertaking inspections and audits, monitoring compliance and environmental data, and creating reports with recommendations to drive continual improvement.
  • Working with Ecologists, Landscape Architects, Scheme Managers, and other teams to develop and manage environmental studies, checks, and assessments.
The successful candidate will have :
  • Degree in Environment, Sustainability, or a relevant field.
  • Experience working in Infrastructure Construction (highways, civil engineering, utilities etc)
  • A minimum of five years in a similar Environment or Sustainability role.
  • Insight and experience with PAS 2080 are preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working with ISO 14001 is desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to travel to multiple sites across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Why this could be an excellent opportunity for you:
  • Newly created role due to company growth.
  • Working for a well-known and highly reputable organisation.
  • Part of a dedicated and proactive Environment and Sustainability team.
  • As an industry leader, the company prides itself on transparency, publishing detailed reports about performance and targets.
The successful candidate will receive a salary of up to £60,000, depending on experience and qualifications, as well as the opportunity to join an industry-leading business in a rewarding and autonomous role.
