Environmental Compliance Manager
Job Details
Full Job Description
Allen & York are delighted to be working with one of the South East's busiest airports as they look to recruit an Environmental Compliance Manager to join their established and growing Sustainability Team and work closely with the Team and other stakeholders in the business in this very much operational role.
Reporting to the Senior Sustainability Manager, you will
be responsible for all of the environmental compliance for the
airport, liaise with the Environment Agency and water companies,
together with other external stakeholders, as well as internal
stakeholders. You'll be passionate about compliance, understand
permitting and exemptions, in particular in relation to water as this
is where a lot of the compliance issues lie. In addition, as you can
imagine, air quality is another area you may have experience in and
will be required to look at in this role, as well as waste, soil and
sampling. You'll have an understanding of planning conditions related
to water and there are ongoing construction projects (where
consultants are employed) so you'll need to know what to
flag.
You'll most likely have been working in an Environmental
Management and/or compliance role on a large site, responsible for
regulations and environmental compliance, you'll have applied for
water permits and dealt with waste compliance and you'll have an
understanding of planning conditions.
Based in Bedfordshire,
you'll be required to be on site two to three times a week so you need
to live within a commutable distance of the airport and, given the
nature of the role, you'll be an excellent communicator, have strong
technical expertise and work well both independently and as a
Team.
So, if you tick the boxes and would like to find out more
about the opportunity, please contact Katie Pereira at (url removed).
I look forward to hearing from you.
